Lagos Airport photo of Abdulmutallab emerges

Sahara Reporters has obtained an exclusive airport CCTV screen-shot of Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab as he prepared to board a plane traveling from Lagos, Nigeria to Detroit on Christmas Day.

The screen-shot, taken from an airport security video, shows Mr. Abdulmutallab reading a newspaper as he waited on the security line, "presumably trying to present the image of a casual traveler."

The Nigerian website claims civil aviation authorities in Ghana denied reports that Farouk had spent some time in Ghana before beginning his journey to the U.S. However, Ghana's Deputy Information Minister James Agyenim-Boateng on Monday confirmed that Mr. Abdulmutallab had spent nearly two weeks in Ghana before beginning his journey to the U.S on Dec. 24. Agyenim-Boateng told the AFP that FBI agents are currently in Ghana investigating Mr. Abdulmutallab's stay in Ghana.

The Deputy Minister also said that Ghana was unhappy about not being informed of concerns about Abdulmutallab whose father had reported the young man's radical views to the United States and other foreign security agencies.

"Fighting terrorism is a collective responsibility of every country and it is therefore important that we share security information of this nature if we are to fight terrorism," Agyenin-Boateng said.
