A Heartfelt Message from Forest Gump to Barack Obama

Forest Gump expresses his concerns directly to Barack Obama in this YouTube video:

Did Barack Obama Receive Campaign Contributions From Oil Companies?

Barack Obama's proclivity to mislead the public with delusive statements has revealed itself once again. In a new campaign ad, Obama says he doesn't take money from oil companies.

But according to Factcheck.org, Obama has accepted more than $213,000 from individuals who work for companies in the oil and gas industry and their spouses. Two of Obama's bundlers are top executives at oil companies and are listed on his Web site as raising between $50,000 and $100,000 for the presidential hopeful.

"It's true that Obama doesn't take money directly from oil companies," Fastcheck.org concedes, "but then, no presidential, House or Senate candidate does. They can't: Corporations have been prohibited from contributing directly to federal candidates since the Tillman Act became law in 1907....... When the Clinton campaign criticized Obama's ad, calling it "false advertising," Obama's campaign quickly noted that he didn't take money from political action committees or lobbyists. We'd say the Obama campaign is trying to create a distinction without very much of a practical difference." Barack Obama Overstates Kennedys' Role in Helping His Father

Washington Post Via Contrarian Commentary - Addressing civil rights activists in Selma, Ala., a year ago, Sen. Barack Obama traced his "very existence" to the generosity of the Kennedy family, which he said paid for his Kenyan father to travel to America on a student scholarship and thus meet his Kansan mother. It is a touching story -- but the key details are either untrue or grossly oversimplified. Continue reading

Trinity Church of Chicago Purchases $1.6M Home for Reverend Jeremiah Wright - In Dubious Business Transaction

The Reverend Jeremiah Wright - spiritual mentor to Illinois senator Barack Obama - is about to move into a new $1.6M home, purchased for him by his own church. But details of how the home was purchased raises some obvious questions:

Fox News - According to documents obtained from the Cook County Register of Deeds, Reverend JeremiahWright (Trinity Church of Chicago pastor) purchased two empty lots in Tinley Park, Ill., from Chicago restaurant chain owner Kenny Lewis for $345,000 in 2004.
Documents show Wright sold the property to his church, Trinity United, in December 2006, with the proceeds going to a living trust shared with his wife, Ramah.

The sale price for the land was just under $308,000, about $40,000 less than Wright’s original purchase two years earlier.

Public records of the sale show Trinity initially obtained a $10 million bank loan to purchase the property and build a new house on the land.

But further investigation with tax and real estate attorneys showed that the church had actually secured a $1.6 million mortgage for the home purchase, and attached a $10 million line of credit, for reasons unspecified in the paperwork. Read the full story at Fox News.

Barack Obama's Trinity Church Takes Down Trumpet Mgazine?

"Trumpetmag.com, the domain of the Trumpet Magazine that gave an award to Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan, has apparently been taken down. We can only speculate that the reason is to limit its ongoing damage to" Reverend Jeremiah Wright, Barack Obama's pastor. Link.

Obama's Flip-Flop on the Iraq War

Peter Wehner in Commentary Magazine recounts in detail how Barack Obama's views on the war in Iraq have changed over time:

Almost as soon as the war began in March 2003, Obama had second thoughts about his opposition to it. Watching the dramatic footage of the toppling of Saddam’s statue in Baghdad, and then the President’s speech aboard the U.S.S. Abraham Lincoln, “I began to suspect,” he would write later in his autobiographical The Audacity of Hope (2006), “that I might have been wrong.” And these second thoughts seem to have stayed with him throughout the entire first phase of the occupation following our initial combat victory. As he told the Chicago Tribune in July 2004, “There’s not that much difference between my position and George Bush’s position at this stage.” Read Here
