Obama & Acorn, and the "Fight the Smears" website

The Obama campaign recently altered the language on a page of its "Fight the Smears website" that discusses Barack Obama's ties to ACORN, according to the Cleveland Leader.

Obama's website had originally stated that Barack Obama "was never an ACORN trainer and never worked for ACORN in any other capacity."

But after the conservative blogosphere cited an article written by an Acorn leader stating that Obama had been invited to Acorn's "leadership training sessions to run the session on power every year", the Obama campaign promptly changed the text on its website to read as follows:

"Fact: ACORN never hired Obama as a trainer, organizer, or any type of employee."

The Obama campaign now seems to be suggesting that while Obama did work in cahoots with Acorn and actually helped train its members, he was never a hired employee of the organization.

So it now turns out that Obama worked on behalf of this disreputable organization for free, out of the goodness of his heart - with the knowlege that ACORN would one day repay him for this act of kindness by helping to get out the vote for his political campaigns.

Based on this latest information, I would like to offer my sincerest apologies to the Obama campaign if I might have given the impression that Senator Obama was a hired employee of ACORN, when in fact, he was working for this wonderful and totally corrupt organization for free! I'm sorry, and I retract all previous accusations about Barack Obama's ties to ACORN...... including an earlier post which purported to identify Obama's long-standing relationship with ACORN, entitled, "Obama and ACORN, Tied at the Hip?"
