Bill Clinton: Ahmadinejad is retaliating for all "the 'VICIOUS', or excuse me, 'vitriolic' criticism he received"

Former President Bill Clinton - in an interview on NBC's Today Show Tuesday - had this to say about Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad:
"If you just look at what Hillary said in the last few days, as well as the consistent position of, not just the president, but the whole national security apparatus, I think we've got to trust [him/her/them?] right now. because for reasons that no one can clearly understand, Ahmadinejad is lashing out at the world, apparently in retaliation to all the 'VICIOUS', or excuse me, the 'vitriolic' criticism he received because of the way he acted in the election. So, it could mean that he's just playing his political cards at home. We just have to let them sort it out right now...."
The aforementioned statement can be heard 3 minutes and 8 seconds into the interview:

Was Clinton's "Vicious" gaffe a Freudian slip?

Truth be told, the word "vitriolic" was also inappropriate.

Secondly, did Clinton say "we've got to trust HIM [Ahmadinejad] right now"? Or did he say "we've got to trust HER/or THEM [President Obama and Hillary] right now? It's hard to tell, but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and assume it was the latter - despite his earlier ["vicious"] gaffe.

In any case, Mr. Clinton - being the Obama & Hillary lackey that he is - was clearly espousing the administration's pacifist policy on Iran.
