Hamas trying to save Syrian regime?

The Israeli military says that Gaza militants fired at least 10 rockets into southern Israel overnight less than a day after multiple terror attacks killed eight Israelis near the city of Eilat.

Question: Is Hamas trying to provoke Israel into waging a major retaliatory strike in the Gaza Strip to deflect attention from the violent government crackdowns in Syria and thus protect the Syrian regime from falling?

Probably.

Syria and Iran are the primary benefactors and weapon suppliers of Hamas, hence, they pull Hamas' strings. They gave the order to unleash a barrage of attacks against Israel, and Hamas is complying with the directive.
